1987 325i no A/C
1987 325i- when I push the A/C button, no compressor or aux cooling fan. Here is what I have verified so far: 12 volts to the switch, switch has continuity, freon pressure is good, low press switch is good, disconnected high press switch- no difference, connected 12 volts to the compressor- it kicks in and the a/c runs cold, jumper wired the aux cooling fan- it runs. So what's next??? I'm cornfused.

no a/c
Me again- if anyone is interested I found a wiring diagram, and I saw that I am supposed to be getting 12v through a white wire into the switch from the a/c compressor enable switch. No voltage to the white wire. I had 12v to the yellow wire, that just makes the bulb in the switch come on when you press it. I jumpered the 12v from that yellow wire over to the white wire and now when I press the switch I have fully functioning a/c and the aux cooling fan runs too.
I just have to find out where the a/c compressor enable switch is. Anyone know? |
