"Moderate Damage" CARFAX
Hello everyone!
I have a question, I am buying a used suv with only 1 previous owner listed. This vehicle got into accident before the first owner bought it from the dealer 9 years ago (I'm thinking this occur during a test drive or so). The dealer then shipped it back to the manufacturer with a "moderate damage" remark, got it all fixed, and shipped back to the dealer. The first owner bought it 20 days later (at least that's what the CARFAX report said) and kept it for 9 years until he traded it, again this is from CARFAX. I know that the "accident & moderate damage" remark is something I should be alarmed off but the fact that the owner kept it in his possession for 9 years and maintained it well. Should this still be considered a red flag? Please help, I really like this vehicle and it's something I can only afford at this time. Thank you in advance PS. The vehicle is a 2005 Mazda tribute. |

Re: "Moderate Damage" CARFAX
if dealer or factory repaired it they probably did it right but if your concerned take it to a private shop and have it inspected. they should be able to tell you what was replaced and if the job was done right

Thank you so much Crvette69 for the quick response! I think that is what I should do before I sign the paperwork tomorrow.
