Astra Fuel Economy

Hi Everyone, ive checked the forum and couldnt find this anywhere...

I am considering purchasing a secondhand 2007 Holden Astra SRI 2.2 Direct injection... I know on the official figures the fuel consumption combined is 9.4L/100km. but id like to know the values in real life. for example my 2005 barina official figure was 5.9L combined, but in real life it was 7L/100km..

Also the new astras have the XER 1.8L engine with 103kW, and the 2.2L is only 110kW, is the extra fuel consumption worth it... plz any help would be great as i cant find many owner reviews on these cars as Holden did not sell many. thnx guys
