99 Olds Cutlass GL Blower Motor Resistor
The fan does not work on positions 1,2 and 3 but it does work on 4 and 5. The same thing happened at 83,000 miles and now again at 130,000 three years later. It was previously changed at the dealer. (girlfriends car - she bought it new)
So - I was thinking of replacing it myself. Anyone know how? 1) It's under the dash on the pass. side somewhere? Where exactly?? 2) What does it look like so I know I'm replacing the right part?? Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Dave |

Re: 99 Olds Cutlass GL Blower Motor Resistor
If you done a search you would hav found several posts on the blower motor not working on 1-3.
But I'll tell you anyways, its on the passenger side. Remove the panels above the floor. You should see the blower motor, that needs removed(3 screws) for access to the resistor which is behind the blower. Not exactly sure on your 99' Cutlass what the resistor looks like, but heres a pic of the Pontiacs resistor. Its probly the same part or looks darn simular. Blower Resistor Its not a hard job, just need to be flexable and patient .

Re: 99 Olds Cutlass GL Blower Motor Resistor
Thanks for your response and photos as it really helped. That confirms that I was looking at the right part. Just didn't want to start taking stuff apart that I was not sure of. I did a search and also checked back a few pages and could not find what I was looking for before I posted. Thanks again for your help.
