Volkswagen Passat Service
Does regularly scheduled service and maintenance include changing the timing belt when the manual suggests it?
I just bought a 2001 New Passat, and i checked the service on carfax and it seems all the scheduled service was followed but it doesnt say exactly what was done. Is the Timing Belt changing included since it is suggested that they do so at 60,000 and i do see that it was serviced at 55,000 and 60,000 miles... |

Re: Volkswagen Passat Service
the answer is no. the timing belt is not included in any regular maint. you would have to get that service done. i strongly recommened you get the timing belt replaced. ive seen passats get towed in with a broken timing belts and lots of expensive work was done.
