Volvo Remote Programming & Service Light
Hey, you guys seem to know alot about Volvos. Do you know how to program the remote for an 850 Turbo, part # 9148646? Also, do you know how to shut off the SERVICE light on my dash? I don't take my Volvo to a dealer, I have my own mechanic but nobody knows how to shut this light off after servicing. Any info for either of these questions will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks so much for your time!!

Just traded in my lighting for a s60 r and love it, i actually beat my friends 2003 lightning with a few aftermarket parts on it so iam very impressed i have also owned 3 cobras and 1 92 lx 5.0 notch back so to impress me is hard about the whole m3 thing who cars if it can beat a volvo in a straight line on a dry day but all the money i saved i can make the m3 or m5 my b**tch and go on a vacation plus my interior is much more comfortable and stylish

Howzit! As far as the sevice light go's , what model year is your 850? before'95 you can do it manually with OBD1 after 96- you need special volvo tool. Try the following for remotes, get in vehicle close all doors, switch on ignition to position II and off again about five times. Wait for the alarm light indicator on dash to flash fast, now press any key on remote twice, switch off ignition, thats it! should work!

Re: Volvo Remote Programming & Service Light
The S60 remotes can only be programmed through a dealer, it requires special software application. One software package from model year 2003 on and two packages for pre 2003.
