My New 2002 325Ci....
Just picked it up yesterday and it runs great...wonderful sound, no squeaks or rattles, tight supension, and fine steering + acceleration.
Only item that comes to mind is that the automatic climate control temp adjustmement might be off at least 5 - 10 degrees. For example, I need to lower the temp gauge to 62 degrees to get the car properly warmed up to what feels like 72 degrees (it is about 28 degrees now in Philly) in most other cars I've driven in with climate control. Is this an adjustment that the dealer can make without too much trouble, or will it require BMW to tear apart many sensors or other things which could correct one problem but cause others? Thanks for the help and input from many of you with my car purchase. If this is the only warranty issue I have over the next 3 years, I'll be pleased. Phil |

My 2002 temp seems to be off by a little bit also, but not as much as yours. 68 in it feels more like 74 in my other car (not a BMW). If yours is really off by a lot, bring it to the dealer.

Air mix dial...
Try goofing with the hot / cold air dial in the middle of the dash over the radio. I don't believe that the climate control system actually creates 68 degree air, it's throwing hot air until the average temperature of the sensors in the car reach 68 degrees.
Just a thought, I got my new 2001 325i in Philly a few months ago...where did you get yours? .jaf.

I just ordered my bimmer, from Philly as well no less (West German), so I don't have it yet but in the other bimmer we have (540i), it depends on where you have the vents aimed. I'm not quite sure where the sensor is in a 3-series coupe, but in the 540 the climate control system spurts significantly warmer air if the feet-area vents are used because the sensor is higher up; it definitely does a lot of compensating and so you think that it's off but it's actually not.
just my experience, Matt |

Thanks Matt...I bought my 325 Ci from Greag at Devon Hill Motors...my other searches on this site reveals that the factory alarm system is around $400 and has radar built into it...if this is true, it sounds like a good deal...a good radar detector without wires to the lighter could cost $500 or more...Since I did not have it installed in Germany, I wonder if the dealer can install it for me now....any thoughts??
