Its not a Falcon, but it has the same suspension. I just put all new suspension under the front of my 72 Maverick. This includes new upper and lower arms with new ball joints. At the same time, I put the disk brake spindles off of a 79 Monarch on the car. The problem is, when I went to mount the spindle, The ball joints didnt have enough "swing" to line up properly. I had to compress the coil spring and raise the upper arm about 1 1/2" to get everything lined up properly. Now the upper arm will not bottom out on the frame rail anymore. The ball joints keep the suspension from reaching maximum droop. The upper arm is suspended about 1/4" off of the frame rail now at maximum droop. Anyone run into this before? Is this normal? I dont see how I could have put anything together wrong, it all just kinda bolts on FWIW, when you compress the spring and allow some upward travel of the suspension, there is no noticable bind. Everything seems fine. This sucks! Any input is welcome.
