'06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
Eureka! There is a known issue with some 06 Civic models concerning a resonance/vibration at 1,500 rpm, between 29 and 40mph. I lived with mine for a year and pursued all available channels for a fix. The general thought was that it had to do with the torque converter. I was recently made aware of a Honda TSB regarding a fix for a "noise" at 1500 and my dealer ordered and installed a longer, rerouted belt. Apparently, the problem had to do with the tensioner.
Anyway, I know that there are some out there still seeking a solution and I for one, am so relieved that I no longer have to deal with this annoying problem. Merry Christmas! |

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
Have heard of one guy who has a 2007 griping about the vibration and he took it to his dealer and they wouldn't touch it because the TSB only applies to 2006 models. Guess he is pissed but can't do anything until they revise the TSB to include 2007 models, if they ever do.

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
Is that a problem that only occurs on the autos or on the manuals as well?

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
The vibration was called the "lug bug" problem by Civic owners.
Lots of info here at http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0c7815/0 You will probably find a lot of answers to your questions. |

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
I checked my car and it already has the belt routed in that manner so I won't really worry right now, but I will keep an eye out. I am kind of frightened about the whole motor mount issue, but again I haven't experienced that problem yet.

Re: Service Bulletin 06-059
Took my 2006 Honda Civic 4 dr. EX in for the Service Bulletin fix. Also mentioned the glovebox rattle. They kept the car all day and then when I went to pick it up they said they couldn't duplicate either problem and so didn't do anything to it. Is it true that they don't have to incorporate the bulletin if they can't hear the "buzzing" in the engine? I drove out and the glovebox is rattling like hell. Maybe the mechanic was hearing impaired...

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
Hello,
After reading this thread I decided to test my 2006 Civic to see if it had the noise, sure enough it was there at around 1500 - 2000 rpms... I could not always make it happen though.. I'm hoping my honda dealer fixes the issue. I am rolling the miles on fast, 20k a year. I will be out of warrenty this year so I want to have all of the other issues addressed. |

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
My 06 civic is currently at the dealer. I told them about the bulletin, but they are blowing me off.
Hey "billaux" can you email me the actual bulletin? I am not a member of that site. Thanks! |

Re: '06 Civic vibration fixed!!!
I hope you didn't pay for the fix. There is a recall to put a new tensioner in and if needed install a new belt.
