Ticket issued through mail from highway driving?
On the way home from work today, I was driving kind of fast, not excessively so, when an undercover Durango (state of DE) pulled up next to me, flashed his lights, and said "I'll write you a ticket in the mail" and he smiled. I'm just wondering what kind of ticket could be issued on the highway through just the license plate? Could points be issued for such a ticket? I've never had anything like this happen before, any advice is appreciated

Re: Ticket issued through mail from highway driving?
It sounds to me like your officer was giving you a friendly warning. There is no way he could issue a ticket to you personally, not having positively identified you.
But he could send a ticket to the vehicle owner based on the plates. But if you do get a ticket in the mail, you can always go to court and fight it. Post back if you get a ticket and we'll try to help.....
