Re: Vauhdin Maailma magazine scans - BPR and FIA GT Championship
Good that at least something were understood my translations. It was a bit hard case, but hopely managed to work it out enought well. Just that one image text of that #02R story is bothering me. Too many technical words, just can't find good translations for them.
But at the end, very pleased that this was again worth to spent two hours.

Re: Vauhdin Maailma magazine scans - BPR and FIA GT Championship
Finally I managed to find some other Finnish Motorsport Magazine's stories about FIA GT1 1997. This is called AutoXpress, which was couple of years thing in Finland in 1996-1999. I have had these magazines in the past, but I cut them to my McLaren map of course, so I had to find them again.
I can scan these, if there is really interest; but so far the stories are quite common, nothing special, except Gordon's interview which can also seen one of the pages here. He explains the changes from 96's GTR to 97' GTR, which they did and what BMW did to get the car competitive to it's rivals coming GT1 season. - Decision to do lots of changes in 1996 July - The goal was to 100kg lighter car than 1996 GTR was - Chassis, chassis panels, and other parts and even wiring were changed - Target limit to BMW to drop V12 weight at least 10kg ->BMW did it 20kg (And Gordon was happy, really happy.) - Total weight 1997 GTR Longtail was after changes 950kg "I think BMW's V12 engine is todays (1997) the best series production engine. They have used all ready all top light metals, like Magnesium, and others well know materials. The engine it self was good starting point to drop kilograms" And he also said: "BMW set the target to win 1997 Le Mans and current (1997 GT cars are much more difficult to drive, these are more racing cars, they are quicker so the driver is more important than previously years". said Gordon in that interview. These were the most important things what that interview had, the other chapter were more explain the situation between McLaren, Mercedes and Porsche, and that we all know very well what they did different than McLaren did. Anyway; here are the images. Hope you like and I can scan these if there is interest. There is not anything really fantastic images of GTR's.

Re: Vauhdin Maailma magazine scans - BPR and FIA GT Championship
Here are some scans from those AutoXpress magazines, the quality is not perhaps the best one; but quite good when looking their an orginal size.
#22R in streets of Helsinki! The #16R were in Helsinki Motorshow in December 1996 and the #21R is from Silverstone's race 1997. Only one Thumbnails is seen, but there is 2, click next.
