I HAVE A '99 DX HATCH WITH A jrsc ON IT. iT HAS BEEN RUNNING FINE UNTIL THE OTHER DAY.....MY ALTERNATOR/SPEED SENSOR 7.5 fuse, under my dash keeps popping. It only pops when I drive the car(WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER IS IN USE). My battery has an insuffucient charge on it.......could that be it? My alternator is charging normally at idle......(just above 14 volts). Can i have a bad ELD(Electronic Load Detector)? Help me please! PLEASE!

I'm not totally sure about your car, but there is a somewhat common problem with JRSC installation where the alternator shorts out to the engine block. Check very carefully the space between the (+) terminal on the alternator and the block/mount/SC... It may be such that it will only touch briefly when the engine is vibrating under heavy load.
If that looks possible, see if you can either bend the contact out of the way or fix some insulating material (that won't melt!) over the terminal. Good luck. |
