Aveo 2.2L Swap
My girl friends timing belt just went out, and we are going to try doing a 2.2L echotech out of a cavalier. I just wanted to know what everyone thinks about that... get other peoples advice. let me know.

I say do it for sure, I would love to see that the car feels like with a little more power, what is that motor rated at? The Cavalier might have a better longer lasting trany as well.......Please let me know, post pics all that good stuff.....

Sure man, will do, but i dont know if we are using the tranny yet, might be sticking with the same one, i will know tomorrow if it mounts up to it or not... i was told it will, thanks for the intrest, and i would alot like to know what it would feel like, byt i think its rated somowhere its to 200's for HP

My gf's car just blew the t-stat housing apart. If the head warped I'm totally thinking about this swap as I used to be into Cav's and know a lot of guys that would have the knowledge to help me out. Here's praying that nothing happened to the motor though. I got enough projects!!

I don't mean to be messing with you, but the Cavalier was made in the US and the Aveo was made in S. Korea. They have nothing in common. An engine swap is not possible.

Not possible? I think you mean not probable. I saw somewhere that the bell housings would bolt up.
