Get H&R springs, u wont regret it!
well i just wanted anyone of u who r planning on buying springs for your car to go with H&R springs. they have a Great ride and it almost feels like stock!
i had a set of neuspeed race springs on my teg and they lowered it by about 2 1/4".these springs were a little too low for me (i live in NYC= potholes everywhere!) so i got some H&R sport springs that lowers the car to a decent drop (it's about 1.75 all the way around) and the ride is still smooth and comfortable. i love them. if anyone is think n about springs in the future go with H&R, u wont regret it!

H&R makes a great product. I have never had a complaint from the 50 or so H&R springs I've installed.

Agreed I have the H&R race springs with KYB struts
and it is the best ride and handling I have had. And the drop is perfect. |

If I were 2 pick up a new pair of H&R springs, that are the 1.75 drop, on my 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback, With 17" rims.. what would be the best Shocks / struts to use... would it be the "KYB GR-2" or "KYB AGX adjust." or is there somthing better to use.. I'd like to have a very comfortable ride, (Lots of pot holes and Shit roads in North NJ) but once in a whiile, I do Drive very hard in traffic, and race late at night...
if I bought adjustables, How much of a pain are they to mess with, adjusting wise ? Installation will be done for free, and have camber kits on standby...... What would you suggest?? |

I bought mine from tirerack.com. Not sure if Koni makes them for your car however.

if money is an issue for u then i wouldnt get the koni yellows. they cost about $500 for a set. And these shocks are better for cars with a really low drop.
I wouldnt get the kyb GR-2's because there meant for stock replacement of your shocks. Not really meant for cars with lowering springs. I would get the KYB AGX's if i were u. they are adjustable and will give a good ride. u can set em on the softest setting for everyday driving and turn them up when u go out to race. to adjust them is pretty simple. for the fronts, u just gotta pop ur hood to adjust them. and i think for the rear, u have to reach under the car and turn the adjustable knob. u can adjust it in minutes! If u wanna get them for a decent price, i would try Ebay. they have em for abour $270 On my car, i have Bilstein HD shocks. i got them for a steal at $200 bucks for all four. ride is pretty smooth with it. Also look into the Tokico illuminas or even the Tokico blues

OK, I will stay away from those gr-2's..
Im Not so sure about getin from ebay.. i see them on there, but how do I know im getting a new set, or even a real set at all.. same thing with H&R springs, they could be painted with some stickers for all I know... Anyone see some good prices online for H&Rs?? as for kyb-agx, anyone have any comments about matching these up with the H&Rs.. Would you use these,or maybe the Tokico's?? Or possibly some other shocks I don't know about yet.... I'm gonna start this project in 3 - 4 weeks... |

Koni yellows will work just fine with your new springs. They have three perch heights for additional adjustability as well as firmness adjustments. They are also the best period, regardless of cost. You get what you pay for so it's worth the price.

Even though i said that u dont really need to go with the koni yellows, they are very very good shocks. but i dont think u need to spend 500 bucks on a set of Koni yellows when other shocks that are much cheaper will work just fine with the H&R springs , i.e. KYB AGX's or Tokico Illumina's. Also the Bilstein HD shocks are pretty decent too. they have two perches just like the Koni Yellow, which allows u to lower the ride height even more

I agree however the guy asked what the "best" combination was. Konis are the best, therefore my suggestion. All of the suggested struts would work well.

Re: Get H&R springs, u wont regret it!
I have KYB AGX adjustable shocks on my 94 vtec lude and i love them. boosted k20 is right, you can adjust them in minutes (the front is under the hood, and the rear isn't under the car, it's on top of the strut towers in the trunk...NO NEED TO JACK UP THE CAR...VERY CONVENIENT!). I also have Ground Control coilovers which add to the handling, and I keep the shocks at a pretty tight setting. I haven't found a corner that I couldn't take at 60 or faster yet.
