Actron pocketscan mystery
I have an 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that cut off shortly after starting the other night. Every time I try to start it, it will crank and then stall almost immediately. I tested the fuel pressure and it was strong so I hooked up a pocketscan and my van starts and runs normally while the pocketscan is hooked up. I even took it for a drive around the neighborhood. As soon as I unplug the pocketscan my engine shuts off. Has anyone experienced this or have any insight to what is happening. The only code on the scanner was for the O2 sensor(not something that would shut my engine off.)

Re: Actron pocketscan mystery
Typically a start and immediate stall indicates a failed security system immobilizer. Are you seeing a red light on the dash - right side(??). I'm not a tech, just addicted to multiple automotive forums for many years but it would appear your scanner is over riding the fault. Why or how I don't know. Might try getting the system reprogrammed. Are you seeing any other odd things happening?
