00 accent auto trans
jus brought a used tranny from a salvage yard put it in changed filter kit used sp 3 fluid test drove car still slips in and out of high gear and sometimes want go into overdrive. went to hyundai and brought the pulse generator switches(2 of them) replaced those cuz i heard they were faulty test drove and it shifts a lil better but it still slips in and out of gear when accelerating. i even changed the tranny computer and still the same thing. the only other thing i can think of is having the ECM reprogrammed to relearn shift patterns or could there be something i'm overlooking cuz i'm really think its electrical since sometimes it shifts perfectly i DUN NO

Re: 00 accent auto trans
Well Hyundai shifts like a champ now i went ahead and took it in to the dealership i was really regretting it at first but they were my last option rather than just putting in another tranny since i had recently brought this one from a salvage yard with a 106,000 miles on it. Anyway 2 weeks before i installed the replacement tranny the CEL was on with TPS circuit stuck open was the code but i cleared it with a scan tool and drove it like 100 miles or so and no more codes. Hyundai called and said that even though the code was erased it was still stored in the ECM and before they could go any further diagnosing they would have to take care of that code and they said that the throttle sensor does affect the way the tranny performs. so i agreed they sold me a sensor and they installed sensor i got a call the next day and they said they did a test and tranny was performing like it should. so $221.00 later my tranny is shifting perfect and TPS was all they say they found but i would'nt be surprised if they just reprogrammed the transmission computer also to relearn shift patterns since the used transmission was just installed. All i know i haven't had a shift problem since!!!!!!!
