Head Gasket Blown
Hello,
I need to replace the head gasket on my 2002 Scenic, 2.0 Litre diesel engine..... I have done the head gasket on a previous old engine, but what with all the fancy fuel injection stuff etc, i wanna get some advice about how to do it.... I know that to remove the cylinder head completely then you have to disconnect loads and loads of leads and connectors etc, but i want to make the job as easy as possible... Basically, to JUST get to the head gasket can i just disconnect things like the exhuast inlet mannifold, glow plugs (its a diesel), injectors, cambelt (I know how to replace these, done it before...) and then just unbolt it, have a mate hold it a couple of cm's in the4 air, then just bung in a new head gaket and tighten it all up again??? A previuos freind did it like this on an old knackered ford at about 100,000 miles, at roughly 170,000 miles the cars is still going strong!!! Cheers everyone, any help aprreciated... Dan |
