idle learn process?

ok so for the past few days my 1994 cutlass supreme 3.1 has been running terrible. I replaced plugs and wires and cleaned out the IAC and TPS sensors. The car surges/hesitates until it eventually stalls out. then u have to wait an hour or so to restart the car. it also takes me 5-6 trys to get it started after it sits over night. there is no check engine light.

now i was thinking the FPR, fuel filter, or fuel pump. but after doing some research on the net i learned about the idle learn process when your battery dies.

A few months back me and my buddy installed subs and an amp into my car. my friend stripped my positive battery terminal so maybe 4-5 days out of the week my battery cable would disconnect but all i hav to do is tap it and it would make the connection.

so im thinking im gonna get a new battery so i can make sure its always connected, because i read that your car will relearn its idle process after driving it for a while. but is there a way i can know for sure this is the problem? the battery probably disconnected 30-40 times on its own since i had the stereo system. thanks.

Re: idle learn process?

The idle learn will not prevent starts, check the fuel pressure.
