Re: is this possible??? need a fix
How does the car behave?
I can figure out this is mind boggling, but after two sets of sensors, I could only think it is either the wiring, or the computer itself, a low probablility but still a possibility. What are the code numbers ? P0326?

Re: is this possible??? need a fix
i can remember the codes # but 1=cam sensor 2nd one knock sensor
the car is sluggish taking off then after 2500 to 3000 rpms it runs fine when taking off i have to rev high like 1500rpm to take off then it feels like it is chocking and if i let off the accelerator a little bit then i get better pick up the wiring was check and found nothing broken or burn at idles the engine sounds like it is running on 3 cylinders but compression test shows 110 pounds on all cylinder |

Re: is this possible??? need a fix
I think you said on your other thread that the timing belt had been changed...however 110 psi ??...ok it is near 8:1 isothermic compression ratio...but would have expected a little more. Were it mine, I'd take a look at the timing belt just to be sure . COUld off timing of cams explain the cam sensor code...? I do not think so...anyway, here is the detail:
www.geocities.com/lmp4203/kiasport/dtc0342.pdf www.geocities.com/lmp4203/kiasport/dtc0343.pdf ..and for the knock sensor code, : www.geocities.com/lmp4203/kiasport/dtc0326.pdf ..by the way, how did you get the codes read?

Re: is this possible??? need a fix

i thought about that but the car starts right up fine now here is my question when the crank is at tdc mark like it shows on the manual shouldn't the piston be all the way to the top? when i take the spark plug out and i insert a long screw driver in the hole when i turn the crank by hand to bring the number one piston all the way to the top the it doesn't line up at the tdc mark. at the tdc mark the piston is down a little??thanks for your reply |

Re: is this possible??? need a fix
Good point..I do not have a definite answer for that.
I'm not sure if the mark on the crankshaft is really TDC or if it is simply there to be put in relation with the other 2 marks for setting the cam position...

Re: is this possible??? need a fix
ok when the exhaust mark on the cam gear is line up with the mark on the backing plate i can also see that the dowel on the cam is at 12 oclock position
but on the intake side the dowel is more like to the right of the 12 oclock position???home this makes sense |

Re: is this possible??? need a fix
..as long as the marks are all together at same time as shown on drawing, all is OK

Re: is this possible??? need a fix
grounds. clean the grounds under the kick panel on the passenger side. also clean the grounds under the battery tray. there was a huge tsb on sportages concerning driveability problems and repeat codes directly related to the ecu and sensor grounds.
