The 240RS was really low on tarmac stages. You surely won't correct the tarmac stance now so yes I think you really should make safari higher to have a real difference. |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Hello Phil !
Yeah, I guess you're right. For asphalt slightly lower, it would be better. But along with the other models it does not look very high. That's near the Lancia 037 |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Yes it seems fine compared to other models, but sincerely the Hasegawa 037 is too high too IMHO...!
Stance and ride height isn't a precise science anyway as most of the rallies were both surfaces, tarmac and gravel, and ride height didn't change that much except for some particular rallies (Corsica, safari etc...). It's a great model and it will be highly satisfying like it is. |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Hi!
I have tried Safari wheels. What do you think of the ET (offset ) wheels? Do I need to do a broader position in the arches . And I'm still not sure about the clearance. I think at this height wheels is sufficient. Maybe add 1 mm will be fine, but this new suspension parts |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Hello Roman. The offset of the wheels look fine to me, but personally i think the wheels should stick outwards a bit more, especially the rear wheels. Also, the ride height of the Safari car should definitely be higher; 1-1.5 should be fine IMO.
Cheers

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Yes, I also think that the wheels should be placed a little wider

Offset looks fine to me too, and I think that position corrected more to the outside of the wheels arch will be perfect... But sincerely for the clearance there's something not convincing to me (in a perfection sens goal of course) as there is no real difference between tarmac and gravel stance on the above picture... Increasing safari ride height really has to be done to me, but I keep thinking that tarmac version would be better a bit lower... You may need, to get the perfect difference, set up the safari too high if tarmac keeps this high position... That said not everyone will compare both together, so if you set up safari one higher that should be fine. Positive point is that anybody building another version (Portugal or so) will be satisfied of the stance starting from your tarmac version whereas starting from safari would need stance correction... |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Oh Phil , i now have doubts about the asphalt version. But now , do not build lower.
I put on the wheels Monte Carlo version . Made the comparison. Yet it seems to me the ground clearance is not very high ? |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Mmm I didn't want to make you doubt of your excellent work, Roman.
Don't worry and don't pay too much importance to my opinion, it's good as it is. I think that mostly not to say only Corsica setup was really low. On the MC pic it seems that rear is a bit too high but not front so we will do with it like that and if some like me think it's to high they will try to lower it by themselves. (I'm even not sure I will try myself, not to risk to break something ) Perfect stance is anyway hard to get as those Gr. B cars had variable setups depending on rally surface and each surface % during the rally as it wasn't so simple to change setups like on WRC. That's why sometimes they look (too) high or (too) low. Most important for you now is to increase a bit safari ride height (I would say 2/3 mm) because this one was really higher than tarmac rallies. PS: did you consider possibility to sell some prepainted kits with additional cost...? Your paint is so perfect... |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
Thank you Phil. Yes, Safari will be higher. As soon as I get ready tires, I will remake part of the suspension.
I'll think about pre-painted body, but I do not think that this will be popular , because it will not be cheap. Paint in three colors is not fast. |

Re: Nissan 240RS rally
That's true, if it's only to sell 2/3 prepainted bodies spending more hours than can be paid, no need to offer the option.
