hill descend assist on '05 OR
I was just messing around with the hill descend assist feature tonight and noticed it's a bit on the noisy side as it's working. It kinda makes a scratchy, scraping type noise similar to wearing brake pads down too far (without the warning squeal). I have only had the truck for a few days. Anyone else who has an 05 off road with an auto tranny notice the same thing or is there something wrong with it? Thanks for any help.

It's using the ABS functionality. Go do a panic stop and make the ABS kick in, it'll sound the same.

Oh, right. Thanks. I forgot that it used the ABS but do remember reading that. I think the fact that the ABS actually disengages in 4L threw me. Thanks again.

ABS doesn't disable in 4Lo, it disables below about 6 MPH.
