Where to obtain models?

I've never built a model and do not even know where to obtain these scale beauties. My interests look to be a bit different than most of you though. I would like to build some scale models of offroad vehicles (Defender's, etc) or American muscle cars (GTO Judge, '69 Camaro, etc). I realize my ignorance in this subject is pronounced. However, I would appreciate any information, which could steer me in the right direction. Thanks

Get out your yellow pages and let your fingers do the walking. Look up "Hobby Store" or "Hobby Supply, Retail" and give a few a call.

Wal-Mart usually carries models, too, but not a huge selection.
