Re: cold air intake for dohc
You can make your own, or Weapon R sells an intake, it's not cold air though, or, PMR sells one. You can get it on www.corksport.com
Check the other intake thread

Re: cold air intake for dohc
im sure they can be modified easily, a CAI has no effect whether it is SOHC or DOHC. It would just be a matter of how big the throttle body is and where the cone would be located

Re: cold air intake for dohc
are you saying that they can be modified for V6 use? cause I don't think that would be smart!

Re: cold air intake for dohc
It COULD be done, but no, I just said that it could be modified to work on the SOHC 4 cyl, or the DOHC 4 cyl. If you could modify it for the V6, then go ahead, but you would be better off just getting the Integra Cold Air kit and modifying that, much easier.
But even so, why wouldn't it be smart? |

Weapon R and HKS make intakes for the V-6

Re: cold air intake for dohc
because you would have to completely rebend the intake piping, and chances are, the width of the intake is not the best size for the V6.
I think the higher you go in liters, the bigger the intake...not sure though...but it makes sense that it would.

Re: cold air intake for dohc
not really... 1000hp Supras use the same intake type... its just they often use Forced Induction to cram more air into the pipe. Because unless you make your throttle body bigger, there is no use having a bigger Intake. The air can only go though it as fast as the smallest part of the intake system.

Re: cold air intake for dohc
I'll make you one for 100 bucks if you want, it'll take a little while though, due to me not having the parts in stock.

That is the most pointless intake they make for our engine. Our stock intake system gets cooler air to the engine than that one does.

Re: cold air intake for dohc
yea dude... http://www.psituning.ca and look under the engine section of MX-3. The guy is from the Ottawa area, really good service and IMHO it is the best intake for the MX3.
