1/3 scale 302 Ford engine (running version)
Here's the stats on my model engine.
It's a 1/3 scale 302 Ford engine built entirely from scratch. The block is aluminum with the water jackets machined into it with iron sleeves for the cylinders. The heads are cast iron. The intake manifold is made out of 2 pieces of brass so that the runners and water crossovers could be milled. It was then silver soldered together and all the external runner detail machined. The exhaust manifolds are fabricated from stainless tubing and bar stock and TIG welded together. The crank is iron and the cam is steel. It has a full pressure oil system with complete cooling through the block, heads and intake manifold. The ignition is fully electronic with a Hall trigger in the distributor and a transistorized unit with a coil in the ignition box. It will idle down to 650 rpm and rev to just under 5000 rpm. I have over 2500 hours (approx.) of build time on it. Here's a video link and a couple of pics. gbritnell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_vQp0gevh0 |

Re: 1/3 scale 302 Ford engine (running version)
It has a 1.00 bore and .900 stroke. The full sized engine is 4.00 x 3.00 so in .3 scale it should be 1.200 x .90 but I reduced the bore size so I could get a little more water jacket around the cylinders.

Super impressive man! I've always wanted to build a running engine.
