E36/7 or E46

Newby question of the week -

I just bought a 2001 M coupe. Clutch is going at 30,000 miles. Boy did I get a great deal ????????

Anyway, while I am replacing the clutch, might as well upgrade. But what to? Different sites will list the 2001 M Coupe as an E36/7 or as an E46. Dinan lists both the 99-00 and the 01-03 as E36/7. Is it the same engine drivetrain? Dinan also does not list a clutch for the 01-03. Any other suppliers for high performance clutch/flywheels for the 01-03?

Thanks
