will type R clutch pad work?

Hey I need a new clutch desperatly. I have all the mods posted and my first gear slips right through the clutch but second gear will grab pretty strongly with no problems now a guy i know said he has a type R clutch pad from his type R he'll give me. will this pad be alot better than the on i got now and NOT slip through first gear because its realy makin me lose alot of races and will it be ok with the stock pressure plate......Its not going to be the permanent clutch im building a new motor so I just need it to hold up for like the summer for racing and just drivin in the winter really becuase im way to cheap to buy a new clutch kit for a motor im not going to keep u know..
