Question 2000 BMW 528i, brake and shaking problems

About a year ago, with approx. 65K miles, my 528i started to shake when applying the breaks. I took it to a brake "specialist" locally in town and they suggested high grade rotor replacements and new brake pads. At the same time I had them put on new tires.

For about a month there was no problem. Then the car not only started to shake again when braking but the sterring wheel started to shake once I reached a speed of EXACTLY 55 miles per hour. I took the car back, they said they "re-did" the rotors and away I went.

About another month laer the car was doing the same thing. I took it this time to a different brake place and they said the rotors were worn. How could that be after only 2 months of having them replaced? They then "re-did" the rotors by machining them?? Whatever that means and again, I was off. After about another month, now I'm getting pi$$@d off, the car started up again so I take it into a completely different shop and he says "it looks like these rotors were NEVER "machined". He "machined" them and now it's been about 6 months with no problems.

About a week ago the car started again with the shaking and steering wheel shake at 55 mi. per hour and while braking.

I am about to throw my hands up in the air, thus why I looked here.

My neighbor who has a 3 series, 2003, says that BMW does something different with their factory rotors and that I should take it to a dealer to have them replaced. the problem with this, thus why I have not taken it back to the local dealer, is that they are complete idiots (and I dont know much about cars) and have in the past, completely screwed me when it came to oil changes and not being able to fix very small electrical problems that the guys at NAPA fixed for me right out on the street!!!!

Does ANYONE have ANY suggestions????

I'm at a complete loss and over the past year have spent close to 1K in having these stupid rotors re-machined, tires balanced, etc.

Please help? Car only has 88K miles on it.
