1998 Tahoe Won't start need HELP
Here is the problem. 98 Tahoe blew engine. Got a create long block and put everything back on it. To cover warranty had the intake cleaned, replaced oil lines, put in new distributor, new radiator, new plugs and wires. Tried to start and not getting fire. Replaced coil and icm. Still will not start. Replaced crankshaft position senor. Still will not start. Follow this test ( http://easyautodiagnostics.com/gm_ic...agnostic_1.php ) to get results. I have checked all connections and none are undone. In step 4 of the test I get a solid light and it does not flash when I try to start the engine. Any suggestions besides the PCM being bad.

Then we start with fuel pressure. 60-65psi . if the pressure is correct then check the injectors/electrical. feed to injectors and on the return side when cranking see if the injectors are pulsing. check for a good ignition spark ..if the spark is good and you did correctly install the distributor it should be close enough to at least spit/back fire. you could place some fuel in the intake too see if you get any engine run if so then its fuel delivery . disconnect the MAF and see if it starts. make sure the grounds are clean of paint and secure. |

Thanks jcat, but we already checked fuel pressure and grounds. rechecked all connections. We are not getting any spark from the coil.

Re: 1998 Tahoe Won't start need HELP
check the crank sensor for output voltage when cranking. voltage also at the the coil/icm.
after that the PCM connectors and grounds of the pcm/computer. your sure you checked all fuses. see if you have voltage to the PCM. possible ignition switch/fuse link going to the ignition circuits. |
