04 civic vp vs. 04 focus zx3

I've had my civic for ten months and my friend just got his focus about 4 months ago. His focus is stock but mine has a 2 1|2 inch catback with no resonator and flomaster exhaust and an aem v2 cold air intake. Were at the local race spot and he askes if i would want to race him, i'm kind of reluctant to race him because i dont race much. anyways I get one of the best lauches i've ever gotten and i'm ahead about halfe a car lenght but as soon as i hit second gear he's cachting up. we shift into third about the same time but in third he beats me by about one car lenght. my civic is a 1.7L sohc with 115-117 hp and his is a 2.3L durotec with 145 hp. both not whp.

hmmm.. I always heard those focus's were pretty sluggish but I've never driven one. I know a girl who has one and she always wants to race me. But I don't know that much about them. lol

Back in 2002 my friend bought a Focus Zx3 or whatever and I beat him by like 2 cars... when my car wasn't gay. I also had a very large person in my car with me.

a quick google search proves nothing..

a few are bone stock, some have a filter.
