2004 Pilot: Is there fluid in the passenger-side engine mount?
I noticed brown fluid under the passenger-side engine mount in my 2004 Pilot. It doesn't quite smell or feel like oil, but it is a little greasy. It kind of has a rusty smell. I can't imagine how oil would get over there, especially since it appears to originate from directly below the engine mount. After searching online, I found a few other people who had this problem. They claimed the fluid was the result of a cracked engine mount (which previously was filled with this fluid).
I spoke with two different mechanics today who told me two different things. One said that the passenger-side engine mount does not contain fluid, and that I have a slow oil leak instead. The other one said that the engine mount does contain fluid, and that it's most likely the cause of the problem. Can anyone tell me for sure either way? |
