Re: Power Power Power

depends on how much power that you want. bolt on's and exhaust will only give 25 to 40 hp tops. You could jsut throw a bottle of laughing gas in it too. 350 lt or ls 1 would be awsome though.

Re: Power Power Power

Also what motor do you currently have? It's easier to pump up a 4.3 than to go crazy w/an eng. swap, but it you want a V8 there is a manual just for S-truck V8 conversons... You can usually find an add for the book in the back pages of Hot Rod mag.

Your main concern with that engine swap is the weight factor. Your suspension is not set up for that much pressure. Also, the entire drive-train will need to be replace, as well as the rear end if you want to get all your little ponies on the ground instead of just at the flywheel. If you've got the 4.3, it's much easier to beef up this lighter engine to get more performance.
A mild cam and rocker kit, tranny, carbon drivshaft and posi-locker will definately give you a kick in the pants from that 6 pack.

If on the other hand you've got the 4-banger...I'm sorry.

One other thing, all V-8 swaps for these trucks requires the removal of A.C. system.

Re: Power Power Power

My friend has Full Flowmasters and a Full K&N intake system and it is powerfull. He can chirp them through third no prob wit just the intake and exhaust. It beats most cars in the area and has great power.
