Drum Brake Conversion kit
My Integra has disks all the way around and i HATE the way they look. Rotors look GAY. Anyone kno what drums i can swap onto a 98 LS? Painted drums look SO sporty behind rims i LOVE it. plus they stop better too cuz they have more brake pad surface area. Plz, let me know if anyone has any info

Re: Drum Brake Conversion kit

Re: Drum Brake Conversion kit
i guess the drums from an 87 accord work good. cheap for a big brake conversion. $50 for big drums at HAP

i had rotors before, i got tired of smashing my car offroad and getting little rocks stuck under the pads and scraping the rotors. i would have to resurface them offten and have replaced them before. I hate slow driving and all roads here are gravel and dirt so i gotta deal with that. So this guys idea is actually pretty genius. I have converted my rotors with drum brakes all the way around from a honda accord for the read and then i got the front ones of a 79 volvo down at the junk yard. Now i have no problems with rocks getting in between my shoes or anything. Now my car also stops much better because the surface of those shoes of a volvo are much bigger than those little pads. Why get bigger brake rotor conversion when you can get these 15 inch drum brakes i got off a volvo and they work so much better. Sure maybe it doesnt look as pretty, but its safer! I painted all 4 of my drum brakes red on a black car, so it doesnt has a very unique look to it. Now about my power brakes, i no longer have that, so now i have a really stiff pedal, and i like it much better because i actually feel the brakes so i have more control of my car.

Re: Drum Brake Conversion kit
GT,
I don't know how many pp get rocks under ur pads but I'm pretty sure u one of not too many, besides, if you wouldnt drive your car offroad you wouldnt get those rocks. under normal use, caliper/rotor works better!!!! now maybe they dont look as good, but I prefer saving lives before having pp saying: hey, look at those.... |

Integras is fun to smash offroad, its like those autocross races. and also who said i asked a mechanic to do this. i have well enough experience to do this myself and enough knowledge to know that this will work much better than rotors because there is more shoe surface than pad surface... obviously more power to stop...ill get u guys a pic...

Re: Drum Brake Conversion kit
its true, any car ive ever been in that had drums stop quicker than those with those faggot ass rotors. They are so freakin gay u can probably become gay just by touching them.
