WIP: Drag Escort with V8 TT
I had this going on for a while.
Please ask if you have any questions. Idea came from this engine. Engine is a 350 chevy. Twin turbos scratchbuilt. I'll change that supercharger(bigger). Wheels are from some old Corvette. Engine will be that high. On top of the charger is two Nitrous plates with solenoids. Next two carbs and plenum. Wiring is in progress. You'll notice that scratchbuilt 3-speed Lenco transmission. Original cage had to be strengthened with macaroni Lots of wiring done with the dash. Those 3 gauges are going to a-pillar. Also brake chute done. Here is interior almost done. There is two fuel lines, NOS bottles and extinguishers. Also fujimi buckles and harness. |

That is really cool, but I have one question. Am I seeing the same model in all of these pictures? The reason that I ask is that if so then we have a car that will be powered by a twin turbo as well as Nitrous injection. If so, I hope the driver has his will completely filled out.
Either way it looks great. |

Yes. It is the same car in all pictures. In fourth pictures you can see nitrous plates under carburetors.
I could imagine this producing near 1600 hp without nitrous. Remember, only 350 cid. And nitrous will give 300-400 hp more. |

Hey Jurva,
Interesting build you have here. I am guessing from the first pick of the old Torana that you are an Aussie. If you are, you need to find someone with old copies of the magazine Street Machine - I'm talking very late 80's to early 90's. In those mags you will find a guy, I think from Queensland, who put a blown 351 into a MkII Escort - just like you are doing. And somehow it was street legal! If I remember rightly the guy rebuilt it a couple of times, so it was in a few issues over the years. It was also in a few of the 'Hot Fords' special magazines published by Street Machine. Cheers, Pots. |
