Some Nissan/Datsun engines had 2 plugs per cylinder. One example is the NAPS-Z engines, like in the 720 model trucks, and the early hardbodys. I'm guessing that his 200SX has something like a Z20. As for the car dying, you sure your alternator is putting out enough power? Sounds more like an electrical problem.

Ok...

The whole dual spark plug thing is for better fuel combustion...lets say a single spark plyug engine burns 85% of the fuel coming in and a sdual burns 99.9%...do you guys know what a CAT does? A cat doesnt re burn the fuel it cleans the smog thats going to come out...I believe by a chemical reaction. Get the thought out of your head that the 2nd Spark plug burns on the way out...it sparks not even a milisecond later...

monoxide were you talking to me? thats what i said a cat does, re-burn the exhaust gases, not the fuel. it converts your NO and NO2 into plain nitrogen and oxygen and i think also changes carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide. obviously not 100% efficient though.
