What a beautiful car! But, this car is more than just looks. It's got the performance to match.

The ecosse is powered by a midmounted BMW V-8 that puts out 400 hp and 369ft lbs of torque. That power is sufficient enough to send it to 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds, and to reach 200mph! Incredible.

Model 0-60mph Top Speed Price
Ascari Ecosse 4.1 secs 200mph £89,000
Ferrari F355 4.6 secs 160mph £99,000
Lotus Esprit V8 4.1 secs 170mph £60,100
Porsche 911 5.2 secs 160mph £64,800

I'm not sure....power numbers seem exactly the same (I thought the Z8 had 394 hp), the Ecosse is a 4.7 L, whereas I thought the Z8 was a 4.9?

The Ecosse does have a 4 valve/cyl head, just like the M5/Z8 engine.

Finally, I have also heard of Ecosses with 4.4 litre engines which put out 300hp. Now, I'm not sure if that's true, or if those were prototypes, or what the deal is...but just food for thought.
