PPG Envirobase
Hey guys, haven't posted in an eternity, but I am wondering if PPG Envirobase paints can be used on model cars without problems...My plan is to use a Duplicolor primer and since I work at a bodyshop paint the models with leftover paints from cars. My supervisor is cool with the idea.

Re: PPG Envirobase
I'm not 100% sure, but I think as long as your primer it and the paint is compatible with the primer then it will be ok.

Re: PPG Envirobase
I would simply test it on some left over plastic part. Prime, paint and clearcoat, and see what it looks like.

Re: PPG Envirobase
Scott - what are the "solvents" in those PPG paints??
That should tell you if it is safe for plastics and always test first - you can use "white" styrene disposable spoons Hope this is helpful John |

Re: PPG Envirobase
The envirobase line is a water based paint...I am assuming it cleans up with water

I've never used the water based automotive paints - they started coming out in the mid 90's when I was racing superbikes John |
