That is where it should go. Put it in the hole they provided for it. If it is a different size, get a rubber grommet to make it fit.

We done discused the grommet on the first page....
If you dont know what a gromet is here are a few pics.

That is what you need to attach the IAT, hope that helps clearify.

Re: Intake installed, then tranny slip...questions

oh just another quick question, lol i noticed that end of the IAT probe is flat and the opening to th rubber grommet is a circle, does that matter or should i just look for one with the expandable membrane?

Ask at autozone, they may have one that is made for your car. If not, just get a grommet that will seal it up best-you don't want air to be sucked in around the IAT probe, because that is unfiltered air.

Re: Intake installed, then tranny slip...questions

okay so i went to autozone, they have no grommets at all, so im going to order one from the internet

new problem is that even if i have the grommet, the IAT probe doesnt reach the hole where i would plug it in, so should i just get a grommet to seal it up and not even bother plugging in the wire or what?

and if the IAT probe is not plugged in, is there any consequence like wasted fuel or anything?

Re: Intake installed, then tranny slip...questions

WHAT! THe ZOnes out of grommets! ?
Any I've been in has had them in the assorted parts section, though any part store should carry them, just the zones cheapest usualy.

Yeah if it isnt hooked up you'll be burning excessive amounts of fuel for sure.
Even with it not in the air intake your wasting gas because the PCM cant calibrate A>F ratios properly with out knowing the temprature of the incoming air.

Re: Intake installed, then tranny slip...questions

You can probably find an assortment of grommet sizes at Lowes or Home Depot also...
Plug the original hole in the intake with something...drill a new hole the correct size for your IAT...insert IAT...seal with something...done.
It's not a big disaster, just a normal part of modding...nothing is as easy as it looks.
