advice/help needed

Hi anyone reading... just after some eh ideas maybe ..

i have a VX acclaim 01 model auto done 132000k's driving along the other day and went to increase speed to new limit next thing seemed to kick back really weird the started making a whirring noise pulled over called a friend for help over phone (restarted car) he thought maybe a bearing ..when he got to me and restarted car he changed his mind.. took me and kids to his house him and hubbie went back to tow car (done whatever to tail shaftto tow) on towing it back relized there now isnt any gears.. guys look at/listen to it and think maybe torque converter or gear box mechanic friend said maybe the shaft that goes to the torque converter and gear box maybe stuffed


sorry its long just wondering if anyone on here has heard of it b4.. we are getting it pulled out on saturday just want some heads up i guess

The only whirling noise I've ever heard is a belt (drive belt) or a universal has fucked up, what else did the car do? did it jolt like it missed a piston? did you lose all acceleration?
