Lightbulb BMW 330i vs. Lexus IS300..

Which one would you take? I prefer the BMW 330i's front, but the Lexus' rear.. and interior... tough call... but I am attached to BMW, so I have to take it because I have always loved it and can't break tradition

have fun

maybe i'll post a couple of pictures later...

Same as before. Looks = IS300, Power = BMW 330

I choose the Lexus . . . for it's novelty, and avant garde styling.

It's a rather smart looking sedan, something which I happened to be partial to.

BMW's are always nice, but they have built a reputation, and unlike the performance and exterior styling cues, the interiors remain dull and hackneyed in my opinion. Admittedly, I can't remember seeing the interior of the 330 . . . I'm just thinking of the other beamers I've seen . . .

How they compare by the numbers . . . different story

number wise, the 3series and the is300 are similar... so i would go with the is300... the seats are awesome... they have that nice suede where it counts...
the 3 series is everywhere where i m at, and no one really notices a bmw... the is300 always gets looks, and when i finish mine whenever i get it, it will get mad looks...
i just dont think a 3series is a surprise to see.. whereas a car that has sucha sporty look to it like the is300 will get the looks...
it looks sporty stock... w/ a bmw 3 you have to upgrade a package or two to get the m car wheels on it...
and when that is300 gets a stick... hmmm... i would take the 3 now for the stick, but when an is300 gets a stick, that means drops in time and increases in hp... hmm.... there is something to think bout....

in reference to the scc article that stated a turbo would be hard to fit on the is300, yes it would have been b/c of the intercooler...
but i believe that as a stock car it would be too expensive(meaning that it could possibly cause reliabilty probs, things you dont want to fix under warranty) to fit the intercooler... aftermarket is a diff game...

this is in reference to the closed thread that was started about the m3 vs the is300...

Yes, but nonetheless, that engine lends itself to turbo applications...yummy.

I take the Lex mostly for styling and because I see too many damn 3 series around. The Lex represents something different, fun, and new!

I'd prefer the IS, but only after it comes with a manual tranny.

i guess w/ this comparison, after the IS 300 gets a manny tranny, I will go for that car... but going only by looks, because by performance the M3 sends the Is 300 WAYYYY down...

so going only by looks w/ the M3 vs. the IS 300, I will go for the M3

I like both, but like Enzo said, too many gamn 3 series. They never hould have made the 323i and 320i, everyone has one. My friends dad just changed jobs and he gets a car from the company, my friends says he can get a loaded BMW 3 series so I'm hoping. as for power, BMw only has 10 HP on the IS so it's not that big of a difference. Lexus needs to make something that the M3 will eat.

I would take any BMW, any day.
1. Any BMW is nicer than any Lexus, IMO. Don't get mad.
2. I don't like the styling of the IS300(the lights, especially).
3. BMW has a reputation. BMW is an accomplished car company with many achievements under its belt. Winner of Le Mans, maker of the McLaren's engine, the whole line of M cars. On the other hand, someone says Lexus, you think of a big 4 door sedan for old rich people. Lexus has no reputation. What is the best car Lexus has come out with? The IS300?? Pretty crappy. SC430?? The man who designed that needs to disposed of. Nothing special about that car anyways.
4. The IS300 has no manual transmission!!! What's up with that Lexus??
5. BMW's are built better.
