BMW Z3 vs Brabus Roadster

I have these two cars I am looking at, but cannot decide on which one to get.

Car 1: 1996 BMW Z3, It has 750000 miles on it, two documented owners with full maintenance history, being sold at a car lot.

Car 2: 2004 Brabus Smart Roadster, It has 38000 miles on it, I believe two owners, being sold by a military personnel, who is leaving the country.

I am only here in Germany for three years, so I don't need to make a lifelong investment. Initially I was drawn to the Roadster, but I have read shaky reviews on the upkeep. However, since it is five years old and runs, maybe now the bugs have been worked out. The BMW I was worried about the age, but it was originally owned by a 77 year old guy, then an air force captain for only 1.5 years. It is quite a bit older, but it is a BMW.

Any advice is awesome.
