engine lihgt on code p0302
hi! my ford ranger has the check engine light on so i decided to put in the code reader and it gave me the code p0302 and told me that the cylinder #2 is misfire , can anybody tell me my problem, and what do i have to do to fix this problem,thank you for your replys and help!

start by replacing your spark plugs and wires. normally a misfire is due to spark plug wires getting old and not being able to carry a spark, or your spark plug wires are "past their prime". that normall will fix that problem, your worst case scenario would be the ignition coil.

If the plugs haven't been serviced in a while then I'd replace them as well as the wires. If it hasn't been that long then swap the plug on cyl 2 to another cyl see if the miss follows the plug. If you do end up swapping it check it for proper gap and the color of the ceramic/porcelin. It should be tan, black indicates running rich if thats your problem clean it and run some cleaner through the tank, if high mileage vehicle you could have a leaky injector. |
