2003 Stang GT Conv/2001 Camaro Z28

Both the same price, both at equal mileage. Which would you pick?

The Z28 is considerably faster. So I'll go with that.

Hmm... but doesn't the mustang handle better?

No way, especially since the Mustang is a convertible. Ever since the Mustang's 1994 re-design, the Camaro has had a definite performance edge over it, and it has almost always handled better. Basically, pick the Mustang if you want a fairly comfortable ride with muscle car undertones, and pick the Camaro if you want real performance.

Food for thought, The Camero's will get trashed if you rear-end anyone at more than 5 mph and the Mustangs are slightly cheaper on ins.

I never knew that about the Camaro. They always got pretty good safety ratings, so that surprises me. The Mustang being cheaper on insurance doesn't surprise me at all, though. It sacrifices performance for refinement, so it will be cheaper to own.

They are fairly safe for a sports car but the sheet metal takes a beating in a low speed crash.

Re: 2003 Stang GT Conv/2001 Camaro Z28

The camaro might be faster but the mustang has a better crash rating than the camaro and the mustang has more room inside and you can make the mustang faster buy puting a new power chip in the ECM this controles the car its the brain. and the mustang has less proleams with the conv. tops less parts to go out. so everyone seems to have a mustang but you can do so much more with the ford. the camaros are limited to what you can do. good luck on you choice.
