Dynomax mufflers=Summit mufflers?

I have a few questions, we all know how Summit copys ideas for products, than re-manufactures them inexpensivly, or just buys the companty and sells a "summit" version of the same produst. I was wondering what company they copied when they made their cheap mustang exhaust (it uses the summit "turbo mufflers") Did they copy dynomax?. My other question is about the dynomax cat back setups. There are 2, the turbo and the ultra flow. Is there a large difference between the two systems? I know i want dynomax, and i am about to order but i am curoius what the difference between the two are and if it is worth the extra $100! Thanks.

I think Summit probably copied the most popular type of muffler for Mustangs which would be a chambered ie Flowmaster, MAc and many others.

Re: Dynomax mufflers=Summit mufflers?

what i am wondering about is how they compare performance wise, cuase $15 is pretty darn cheap. Since my mustang is pretty stock i doubt I will be hitting the high restriction of most mufflers anyways

Ultra flows will have a loud crackly sound to them, they are a straight through muffler.

super Turbos will sound almost stock but make more horsepower than most other mufflers in existence.

The super turbos sound stock eh? I was hoping for somethin louder than stock, but if they flow well than i have made my decision.

They don't sound completely stock, they just aren't extremely loud. I think they are a good choice if you pick them. I will venture to say that you will be happy with their sound because they wont annoy you like many do. Hope this helps you decide.

Re: Dynomax mufflers=Summit mufflers?

a friend of mine has 96 GT and she has the super turbo's by Dynomax. From inside they have a nice low-toned (bass?) rumble, but not really loud, just like with no stereo or talking you hear this nice sound, it makes the car just feel more muscle and solid. Then when you get on it it sounds pretty decent. These won't be really loud, but peopel will be able to tell that you have custom mufflers, and they flow very well from what i have read. It is a good choice if you don't really want very loud mufflers, but want some nice sound when you punch it.
