obd2 questions
i have the harbor freight scanner and for the most part it does good at scanning for codes and such but i would like to find a scanner that will not break the bank for testing thing like the battery,abs-and bleed, oil resets, e-brake resets, TB relearns, tpms resets, injectors for doing power balances to check for bad injectors, and even for finding bad coils? evap testing, and to do some bidirectional tests to command parts to see if they are responding to the ecu commands. i see lots of scanners on sites like amazon and ebay etc but those places all they you that there items is the best. and amazon reviews can be flaky at best. i did tons on YT videos and the same thing those guys are pushing a scanner that they got sent to them or they get paid to push it. i see a scanner on one YT they say it is great and then the next YT they say it is junk.
so maybe some of you guys here will have a scanner that works and will not break the bank for the dyi guy for the occasional repair in my garage. thanks for any help and ideas. |

Re: obd2 questions
At work I use an Autel DS808 "MaxiDAS" scan tool. The one that I have comes with the various adapters that allows it to also be used on some pre-OBDII stuff, cost was around $900. It does everything I need it to do. It will do all of what you are looking for plus more.
