engine swap

i have 2005 ford taurus with a 3.0l ohv vulcan non flex fuel motor, found a good deal on a 2005 ford taurus with a 3.0l ohv vulcan flex fuel, can i swap engine easily if i dont plan on running it as a flex fuel car

I cannot say with absolute certainty that this would be quite the challenge, but my recall is there are a few additional sensors and an extra flex fuel module that would make the swap difficult if you didn't swap all that over as well. I think to get the engine to play well you'd need the ECM from the donor car as well, and if you didn't also swap over all the extra fuel system pieces you'd likely end up with yellow lights on your dash. I'm not sure if the wiring harness in your car would have all the right connectors either.

It seems like with as many Taurii as were sold it wouldn't be too terribly difficult to find a non-flex fuel Vulcan engine that would be a more straightforward swap. If it were me, I'd keep searching.
