2000 GC 2WD - Remove oil pan without removing exhaust y-pipe?

I'm replacing the oil pump on a 2000 Grand Cherokee inline 6 2wd. As is the norm for this procedure, removing the exhaust y-pipe is killing me. Is there ANY way to get the oil pan out without having to remove the exhaust pipe? The pan is so close to coming out with just the starter off! Please share your magic tip with me that will save my day.
