Unhappy stopping from the hobby for a while

hi all

yesterday my dad say : "frank it's maybe better for you to stop a while with building models."
cause i'm too busy with school and it's not very good with me at school

so no more in-progress treads from me.

i will everyday hanging around on the forums so i'll stay here.

in a cople of months i'm hoping to comeback with my models.

(I was very pissed of yesterday )
greet frank

Well I agree if your grades are for shit then maybe its best to slow down for a while, I had a problem with this last year, i was putting more effort into a hobby (something I will have my whole life to do) than I was putting into my school work, and i dont want to be in highschool for the rest of my life, so I no only work on my kits on nights that I have no homework, or I do my homework first, then build a bit to relax before I hit the sack.

^ I agree. I only work on my models when Im relaxed and have a small schedule. Whenever I seem to work on a time restricted schedule or Im stressed my models look like crap.

never fucking say that. for me High School was awsome and I miss the hell out of it. and i've only been out for 8 months, I wish I was stuck in High School still

to get back to too subject you never should put modeling a head of everything else you do in your life. there are alot of things that are alot more important. this is just a hobby.

I'm currently in College. and I have no kits up here with me, zero, not even any build ups. keeps me focused on my school work which is alot harder then High School. Then when I go home for a weekend I can sit back, and relax with a model. then during summers I work 40+ hours a week and modeling is just a way to relax. I've been doing less modeling know then I have been in my 12 years of building.

Yeah, I had the same problem last year during my senior year of high school. My parents didn't tell me to take a break, it was just that by the time I got home and did my homework, there was either no time to build, or I was just too tired.

Now that I'm at college, I'm still busy, but lately I've been finding time to work on my models, study, get my homework done and keep my grades up. I usually work on my models between classes, or when I take a break from doing homework (like right now). It helps relieve the stress, and since I'm in engineering, I've learned how to apply some math and to my modeling, and I'm a lot more confident when scratchbuilding. The only downside is that since I'm always studying or modeling, and I don't really hang out with my friends that much. But what the hell, all they wanna do is play video games.
