curious about tb mod
just curious has anyone done the throttle modand then have fuel pump problems? maybe its just coincidence. if you give the computer more air flow with this mod does it tell itself to give it more fuel???just curious, i did the throttle mod about 2 -3 months ago and my fuel pump went. i do know the fuel pump was replaced before back in 04-05 sometime by the original owner at the dealer under warranty due to the glorious GM gas gague issue. anyway just curious if the computer was telling it to give it more fuel after the mod gave it more air, and possibally burnd the pump up faster? or like i said could just be coincidence. anyone have a similar issue? or am i just looking to deep into things?

Re: curious about tb mod
The pump runs continuously, delivers constant pressure, and the extra fuel is returned to the tank. More demand for fuel does not increase the work done by the pump. It's just a coincidence.
But to answer your question, yes, the PCM does know there is more air. The Mass Air Flow sensor reads the amount of air coming into the engine and increases or decreases the injector pule accordingly.

I don't believe this mod causes more fuel to be pumped or burned. In fact, the only thing it really does is help with throttle response. There is no power gain from doing this. I did mine 6-7 months ago with no ill effects. It does greatly improve low end throttle response though, especially when towing.
