99' Legnum 2.4ltr engine stall at idle
Hi Guys. I've had a 1999 Legnum Viento 2.4ltr GDI for a year and a half now with no problems ( besides the typical huge fuel bills),
My problem is the last week the dam thing doesn't idle when its warmed up, it revs up and down under 1000 rpm a couple of times then usually stalls. It runs fine when moving, but when i stop and shut it down its a lil bitch to get goin again. Its an auto, so more often than not it will stall before i can get into drive. I'm a worthless mechanic, but if someone knows the problem then atleast I can tell my Mech what needs fixing. Any ideas guys? |

Re: 99' Legnum 2.4ltr engine stall at idle
hey, I had this problem (still do needs fixing) it could be your cambelt seal. As the car warms oil is circulated in the engine and leaks onto the spark plugs causing a miss fire at idle and sometimes when accelerating. approx cost to fix $1200. Including replacing cambelt. Spark plugs replaced/ cleaned will temporary impove the problem. But eventually will need placing.
