new clutch not going into gear! ('98 Wrangler) HELP!
Help, I need some help as my husband is in Iraq and the mechanic working on my Jeep is banging his head against a brick wall and now I'm going to start. I have a '98 Jeep Wrangler and we just put a new hydraulic clutch in as the old one completely stopped on me a few months back. Now, after driving it about 700 miles and it did great, it's hesitating going into 2nd and 1st gear. Just today it started happening in 3rd and 4th as well. I messed around with it a bit in the parking lot at my job and it seems to only stick when I slow down and put it into neutral and then try to shift into 2nd or 1st. If I turn the engine off and back on I can shift fine again. I can also engage the clutch and shifter when it's turned off just fine. Does anyone have any help for me to give to the mechanic? I have a baby and I was just about stranded in the middle of an intersection. Please help. |

maybe syncros?? and you may not want to post a question about a jeep in the Honda section, some people here can get a bit touchy.

maybe they asked because there are like 12 people in the jeep section while theres 800 here in the honda forums, rough estimates, and they maybe thought that since us people do a whole bunch of crap on our cars, we would know what were doing seeing as how a tranny is a tranny, well for fwd cars
